The Vibratory polishing machine is a popular type of equipment in vibratory finishing technology. On the current market, there are many different types of vibratory machines available, varying in design, model, and price.
So how can you inspect a metal vibratory polishing machine to make sure you are not overpaying or buying a used one? Take a look at the following criteria:
Machine body: To check the body of the machine, carefully observe each part, touch the surface with your hand to feel it. A good-quality machine body should not be dented or deformed; the paint surface should be even, smooth, and free of scratches. During transportation, the body may get minor scratches, so it is important to ensure proper external packaging to avoid impact damage.
PU lining
The PU lining (also known as synthetic resin) is the inner layer inside the bowl of the machine. A standard PU lining should have a uniform color, with no peeling, tearing, or cracking. If the PU layer shows signs of tearing or cracking, it indicates that the vibratory polishing machine has already been used.
In cases where the PU surface has small circular holes (pits), the issue may come from the manufacturer’s production process, and the supplier should be contacted for inspection and correction.
Machine wiring
The wiring can be inspected by gently pulling the cable by hand to check its firmness. It is important to apply moderate force when doing so. A high-quality wire should be flexible and resilient, showing no signs of breakage or cracking during the pull test.
Accompanying accessories
When purchasing the machine, several accessories are included, such as the handle wrench, base stand, and water valve. The handle wrench, usually T-shaped, is used to remove or install the motor in case of operational issues. The base stand helps stabilize and balance the machine during operation. The water valve is used to drain water after the finishing process, along with media and workpieces
Technical specifications
Each type of machine has different technical specifications depending on its model and category. After purchasing, we recommend that customers measure and compare the machine’s actual specifications with those indicated on the machine label, such as length, width, height, and spring diameter. A size deviation of around 5% compared to the label is considered acceptable.
Operation
Before putting the machine into official operation, it should be run for a warm-up period of about 10–15 minutes. If any irregularities or abnormal sounds occur during this time, contact the supplier immediately for prompt assistance.
