Robot-Integrated Polishing Machine

A robot-integrated polishing machine is a fully automated abrasive grinding system that uses sandpaper belts. The main components of the machine include the belt deviation adjustment unit, spindle head, and auxiliary support components.

The machine is designed to automatically stop if the abrasive belt breaks and is equipped with a belt deviation control system, ensuring stable and precise operation throughout the polishing process.

Main components of the machine include two belt grinding heads, a complete machine frame, and an electrical control system.

Main Structural Features and Working Principle

1. Belt Grinding Heads

  • Upper belt grinding head: Provides the drive for the abrasive roller to rotate. A felt wheel is mounted on the spindle of the active rubber roller. The belt drive mechanism includes the active rubber roller, passive rubber roller, and aluminum tension roller, among others. Components such as the precision force slide rail, pneumatic tension cylinder, and force cushion cylinder maintain the tension and pressure of the belt. The felt wheel is fixed on the spindle of the active rubber roller, so it cannot compensate for felt wheel wear.
  • Lower belt grinding head: The specifications are similar to the upper grinding head, except that it does not include a felt wheel.

2. Complete Machine Frame: The main body of the machine is welded from structural steel, while other components are machined from #45 steel and A3 steel plates.

3. Electrical Control System This system is operated via PLC, human-machine interface (HMI), and automation controls. Safety is ensured through earth leakage switches, fuses, grounding devices, etc. The automated control system guarantees normal machine operation while ensuring the safety of both operators and equipment.

4. Processing Procedure: The robot securely holds the workpiece and first performs rough grinding using the lower belt, then moves to the upper belt for medium grinding, and finally performs fine grinding with the felt wheel.

5. Electrical Control System: The electrical control system is connected to the robot, which controls the entire operation.

6. Spindle Speed: The spindle rotates at approximately 2,800 RPM.
