A deburring machine is used to treat metal products with burrs, such as mold flash, excess material, small bumps, or sharp edges left after casting, stamping, bending, milling, or turning processes. Currently, the two main types of machines used for deburring are vibratory polishing machines and roller grinding machines.
1. Deburring machines and their operating principles
Currently, there are two commonly used types of deburring machines: vibratory finishing machines and roller grinding machines. Vibratory machines are semi-automatic polishing devices, while roller grinding machines fall under traditional mechanical polishing, relying mainly on manual labor. Both types of machines must be operated under human supervision.
A three-dimensional vibratory machine works on the principle of creating friction between the workpieces and abrasive media by agitating and tumbling them inside a processing bowl. Under the combined effect of friction and deburring compounds, excess burrs and sharp edges on the products are removed, resulting in a clean, burr-free surface as desired.

With a roller grinding machine, the most effective abrasive material is the sanding belt, which belongs to the abrasive group. The sanding belt is installed on the roller grinder. It is constructed with a fabric backing and a surface coated with abrasive grains bonded by industrial adhesive, forming a continuous loop (belt). The belt’s surface contains abrasive particles with grit sizes ranging from #60, #80, #120, #240, #320, #400, #600, #800, to #1000. These abrasive grains effectively grind and deburr products through friction between the belt surface and the workpiece.

2.How to use a deburring achine
A deburring machine operates semi-automatically under the supervision of a polishing operator. For vibratory finishing machines, the deburring process involves the following steps:
-
Clean the metal product that requires deburring.
-
Select the appropriate abrasive media and specialized deburring chemicals.
-
Place the products together with the abrasive media and chemicals into the machine’s bowl, add water, and press the start button to begin operation.
- Once the desired finish is achieved, turn off the machine, rinse with water to clean the products, and separate them from the abrasive media.
-
Dry the products.
For belt grinding machines, the operator performs the following steps:

-
Install a sanding belt of the appropriate size onto the machine’s shaft (selecting the proper grit size)
-
Press the start button to activate the sanding belt.
- Move the product close to the sanding belt to create friction and grind down sharp edges.
-
Once the desired result is achieved, turn off the machine.
Note: During the deburring process, gloves should be worn to prevent scratches, and proper safety gear such as masks, helmets, and other protective equipment should be used to ensure safe operation.
3. Trusted supplier of high-quality deburring machines in vietnam
Using a deburring machine helps manufacturers achieve higher efficiency in surface finishing, while significantly increasing production output and reducing costs compared to manual deburring methods. However, to achieve these benefits, it is essential to purchase deburring machines from a reliable and high-quality supplier.
